FOR OUR FAMILIES
A note for grown-ups
Last updated September 7, 2026
Cosmic Quest gives children short, encouraging math adventures. It is free, with no ads, purchases, public profiles, or chat.
Before your child joins
Create the family account using your own email, verify the one-time code, then give permission for us to save the learning information below. Only a parent or legal guardian should give this permission. Children do not need email addresses.
What permission covers
We save each private explorer’s chosen avatar, math practice, difficulty, stars, sound setting, current story, and a short fictional recap under your family account. This lets siblings keep separate progress and resume on another device. We do not ask for their real names, birthdays, school, photos, location, or voice recordings.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) hosts and secures the service. Amazon SES delivers account messages and the separate confirmation of your permission. There is no advertising, sale of personal information, or public sharing of learner profiles. Optional AI stories receive only a destination, chosen starting scenery, random variation, and the previous fictional title, ending, and next-adventure idea, without identity, answers, or learning history.
You stay in control
In Family space, verify your email or passkey to review or download family data, delete a profile, or delete the account and withdraw permission. We remove unconsented accounts after 7 days and family accounts after 365 days without login or saved learning activity. See the Privacy Policy for retention, device storage, providers, and your choices.
A parent-managed account and permission are required before play. Each child chooses their own explorer, and progress is saved to your family account. There is no penalty for taking a break.
Easy login, with your device
Add an optional passkey to a grown-up’s personal device. Face ID, Touch ID, or the device’s screen lock can unlock it. The app never receives your face or fingerprint data. Anyone with access to that device’s unlock method may be able to log in, so use care on shared devices.
Learning settings
You can choose a starting grade, turn sounds off, use ready-made stories, and review practice progress. Generated stories are optional. Story read-aloud uses ElevenLabs to turn the displayed story passage into audio, without sending account or explorer identifiers. No microphone recording is used.
Five puzzles keep each adventure short. Fresh stories invent new goals and events, then carry the adventure forward. Skills that need more practice can return with different story objects and situations. The ready story library offers several plots and can repeat.
Read the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy before giving permission.
